Because the audience of The Social Eater is varied in knowledge and practice of fair trade practices, posts up until now have been fairly introductory.
Next week, I’ll be launching a “let’s go deeper” series about the who, what, where, when, and why of fairly compensated services.
Until then?
- Play a game. How much of each dollar spent on coffee do you think should be spent on each link in the supply chain? Now is your chance to decide…and then find out how that money is really spent.
- Join in the effort. Did you know slavery is happening in our own country? This summer, International Justice Mission is campaigning for slave-free tomatoes in the United States. Sign the petition, start your own campaign, join the Facebook community, or read more about the campaign and what you can do to be involved.
- Catch up on posts before we build on what we’ve discussed so far:

- Share what you’ve learned. Have you come across a fair trade-oriented article or website you’d like to discuss? Share it here or on the Facebook page.
